My Practice
I want everyone to experience the health transformation and deep tranquility that Acupuncture has to offer, embracing the opportunity to live a vibrantly healthy and fulfilling life. Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis relies on your own body’s wisdom and healing potential. My role is to interpret the information I receive from the quality of your pulse, and the observation of your tongue, in order to diagnose your condition. From this diagnosis I can create the most effective and therapeutic treatment plan to balance your body, mind, and spirit, on a deep core level.
Chinese Medicine fits beautifully into my life work- a journey of collaboration with each individual to find the ideal course of treatment uniquely suited to fit their needs. Some people are thrown off by the unusual combination of a young American woman practicing the ancient art of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, but I absolutely know this is my true path. Once you experience Acupuncture, I’m sure you will understand why.
I grew up observing an ill family member spend enormous amounts of time and energy trying to find doctors, remedies, medicines, or therapies that could help resolve symptoms. Traveling extensively, trying new things, and meeting with new doctors all usually ended in very short term superficial relief, or complete frustration and disappointment.
Amidst this struggle, I remember being amazed at the results when this individual tried Acupuncture; I was in awe at how profoundly effective it was. References to the Acupuncturist were made with utmost respect and gratitude, for the pain relief, improved sleep, and deep relaxation that came as a result of the treatments. It was incredible to see the positive transformations taking place in this individual. This modality, Traditional Chinese Medicine, although previously unknown to me, immediately got my full attention.
Discovering Acupuncture
My own first experience with Acupuncture was equally amazing, and I began spending a lot of time studying the history of Chinese Medicine. I had always been interested in health and wellness, and was very conscious of how to take care of myself. I enjoy a very active lifestyle, spend a lot of time outdoors in nature, love learning about vegan, whole food nutrition, and enjoy predominantly living foods. Chinese Medicine became a new component of my interest in health and wellness, and I was utterly fascinated. Yet, it took six more years to discover it was more than just a hobby for me.
I went on to research schools and find the best fit: Bastyr University. After studying Nutrition and Natural Health Sciences for my Bachelor’s degree, I went on to complete the Masters of Science in Acupuncture program. I feel exceptionally blessed to have been asked by my mentor Jim Dowling, to work in his clinic. I am deeply grateful to him for further inspiring me, and passing along wisdom from his 20 years of practice.
It is a joy for me to be involved with people who want to strive for change and improvement on a deep core level. I find that those who seek Acupuncture are not simply looking for pain relief, they are seeking profound, inspiring, and transformative work on all levels.
Every single person is incredibly different and complex, and I enjoy the challenge of discovering what unique approach will be best suited to bring that particular individual back into harmonic balance. Being witness to the improvements and healing that occurs with this type of work is an incredible blessing.
Transformation
I know that I am simply working with the body’s innate ability to heal itself, and I am honored to have the opportunity to encourage that. These days, if I’m not at clinic or on my bike headed that way, I am usually on the go in some other way. I love running, hiking, rock climbing, and triathlons. I am a sucker for a full day of snowboarding, and I will never pass up the opportunity to spend time near the ocean- especially one with a nice beach. I love traveling the world and discovering new lands, cultures, and amazing people.
I live life fully, and feel that everyone should have the chance to do the same, which is why I have devoted myself to learning a healing art that can affect people on a deeply transformative and powerful level.
I want you to experience the gift of Acupuncture. Give yourself what you deserve- the chance to live a vibrantly healthy and fulfilling life! We all deserve balance in body, mind, and spirit, and the inspiration to seek new heights every single day.
Thanks for reading!
